Lori Doolittle works and resides in Richwood, West Virginia with her husband and son.
I see my figurative ceramic sculptures as small stories. These narratives involve characters who aspire to escape, defy, enhance or embrace the human condition. Each personality is honest and exposed by allowing their emotions, obsessions or hidden characteristics to be revealed. I use textural details, masks, figurative objects, and posture to portray or emphasize these attributes. Each piece is built of red earthenware, under glazed, and then tonally glazed with oxides.
